Welsh hotel voted world’s best for service

Users of TripAdvisor have voted a Welsh hotel’s service as the best in the world at the travel website’s annual Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Lauriston Court Hotel in Llandudno topped the best service category ahead of 24 other hotels from across the globe.

More than 400 guests rated the hotel as excellent, praising all aspects of the hotel from the “warm welcome” to the “spotlessly clean” rooms.

Lauriston Court’s proprietors, husband and wife team Carol-Lynn and Ian Robbins, are thanked by name for their hospitality in many of the hotel’s reviews.

Speaking to the Press Association, Carol-Lynn and Ian remarked: “Providing our guests with the best service possible is so important to us, so it’s heart-warming to be recognised by our guests for the work we do to make their stay special.”

Rudding Park in Harrogate was voted as the top UK hotel, coming fourth in the worldwide vote. Athole Guesthouse in Bath won ‘Top UK B&B’ and was voted second in the ‘Top B&Bs and Inns in the World’ category.

TripAdvisor spokeswoman Emma Shaw said: “Yet again, Britain’s B&Bs continue to be celebrated as some of the very best in the world, and for a British hotel to beat over 650,000 others to be named number one in the world for service really is something to be proud of.”
