The organisers of the Big Event 2012 have announced a change of venue.
Instead of being held at the ExCel Centre in London’s Docklands, it will now be staged at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge on Monday 27th February.
The Springboard Charity and Hospitality Action are confident that what has become known as the hospitality charity event of the year will raise much-needed funds for both organisations’ valuable activities.
Springboard helps young, unemployed and disadvantaged people by offering training and job opportunities in hospitality, leisure and tourism, while Hospitality Action offers assistance to those working, or who have worked in hospitality in the UK, who find themselves in crisis.
This year, the Big Event will coincide with Hotelympia which according to the two charities showcases the hospitality industry at its very best alongside the people and companies who make it tick.
As chief executive of Hospitality Action Penny Moore explains: “We are all very much looking forward to the Big Event, the perfect way to celebrate a successful Hotelympia, and raise much needed funds for both Hospitality Action and the Springboard Charity.”
This year the charities are presenting a menu of outstanding ‘Best of British’ dishes and an array of amazing performances. Anne Pierce MBE, chief executive of the Springboard Charity adds: “It’s going to be the biggest and best charity event for our sector that has ever been held – so everybody in this dynamic industry should get behind it.
"All the funds raised will be helping to continue the vital work of both charities as they assist needy individuals across the UK.”
