Peter Ducker to step down as IoH chief exec

He has been at the helm of the organisation for the past eight years

The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) has announced that Peter Ducker will step down from his role as chief executive at the body.

Ducker, who has spent the last eight years at the helm of the organisation for hospitality professionals, will remain in his position until early April.

Following his withdrawal from the role, Ducker will move into a consultancy position where the group will continue to benefit from his “expertise” during the new chief executive’s transition period.

Kellie Rixon MBE, chair of the institute supervisory board, said: “Under Peter’s leadership the IoH has built a strong reputation for providing its members with fantastic opportunities for lifelong learning.

“He leaves us in the summer with our thanks and gratitude for being instrumental in creating a strong platform from which the IoH can continue to grow and support its membership.”

During his time at the body, Ducker supported the restoration of its finances, grew its membership-base, and developed initiatives that increased the institution’s value to the hospitality sector.

However, when looking back at the initiatives he has been “particularly proud” of, Ducker pointed to the organisation’s development projects.

He said: “It has been an honour to lead the institute through a period of regeneration.

“I am particularly proud of the mentoring scheme, our embracing of technology to revolutionise the way we deliver much of our professional development and the competitions that we run.”
