Westbourne Leisure Ltd acquires The Regency Hotel

The freehold property comprises 111-bedrooms, a large onsite car parking, a bar, lounge, restaurant, and seven meeting rooms

Westbourne Leisure Limited, a hotel and hospitality operator across the West Midlands, has acquired The Regency Hotel in Solihull for an undisclosed sum.

Corus Hotels handled the sale, and the freehold property comprises 111-bedrooms, a large onsite car parking, a bar, lounge, restaurant, and seven meeting rooms.

The Birmingham hotel also includes a leisure club with a fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna, plunge pool and jacuzzi.

Located on the A34 Stratford Road near the motorway network, The Regency Hotel is approximately a 10-minute drive from Birmingham International Airport and the National Exhibition Centre, the largest exhibition facility in the UK.

Khurram Mohmad, chief executive at Corus Hotels, said: “We are pleased to have come to a deal with Westbourne Leisure Limited by working with JLL hotels and hospitality consultancy. We are grateful and very proud of The Regency Hotel team for all their support during this time and for their hard work and dedication over the last few years.”

Gavin Wright, senior director of hotels and hospitality at JLL, added: “We are delighted to have handled this off-market transaction on behalf of Corus Hotels. This is an excellent acquisition for Midlands based Westbourne Leisure Limited who currently own and operate a number of other hotels and hospitality venues in the local area.”
