Seafront hotel in Folkestone placed on market for just under a million

The Southcliff Hotel in Folkestone, Kent, has been brought to the market on a guided price of  £999,000.

Arranged over six floors, the property provides 72 en-suite guest bedrooms, several guest lounges and function spaces throughout the ground and basement levels and the Blue Martini cocktail bar.

Current owner, Patrick Dubus acquired the hotel through Christie & Co in 2002 and said he is now looking forward to a “well earned retirement”.

Andrew Moore, director at Christie & Co’s Maidstone’s office, who handling the sale, said: “The Southcliff Hotel represents a great opportunity to acquire a successful business which benefits from a great deal of repeat custom and has the potential to take it to a new level.

“The hotel is surrounded by an array of attractions a short drive away, including Leas Cliff Hall, which hosts many events from well known comedians to headline acts, Lower Leas Coastal Park, a free adventure playground, Dover Castle, the Battle of Britain Memorial in Capel le Ferne and the Harbour Arm promenade, which offers fantastic views and eateries.”
