Dalata Hotel Group has inaugurated the Maldron Hotel in London, a 191-bedroom establishment in Finsbury Park. The group invested £4.1m to meet Maldron Hotels’ standards after purchasing the ready-to-go hotel for £44.3m. The hotel boasts a contemporary ground floor lobby, spacious dining and bar areas, a fitness suite, and stylish rooms featuring deluxe amenities. Designed with sustainability in mind, it holds a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and EPC A status. Positioned as a cost-effective alternative to city centre pricing, it is the group’s 53rd hotel and the first of five new Maldron Hotels set to open in the UK within the next year.

The Westin London City hotel has introduced its new Residences, offering a minimum three-night stay with three bedrooms, balconies overlooking the Thames, and fully equipped kitchens. Designed by Studio Moren, each residence combines contemporary style with timeless sophistication, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-concept layout. Residents have access to the hotel’s facilities, including the Heavenly Spa, WestinWorkout Fitness Studio, and restaurants. Overlooking iconic landmarks, the luxury spa hotel offers an unparalleled living experience.

Franck Arnold, general manager of The Savoy in London, has been appointed visiting professor of practice at Birkbeck, University of London. This appointment supports students on the MSc Hospitality Innovation Management course, a joint program with Le Cordon Bleu. Arnold, with a background in luxury brands and notable roles in InterContinental, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton, brings over four decades of experience. The partnership aims to provide students with insights into the dynamic hospitality sector, fostering the next generation of hoteliers and restaurateurs.

The Store Hotel, set to launch in 2024 on Broad Street in Oxford, is a transformation of the historic Boswells department store into a hotel, restaurant, rooftop bar, co-working space, and spa. Developed by Reef Group and EQ Group, the hotel spans seven floors, featuring 101 rooms with various design typologies. Treadwell, the restaurant, offers sustainably sourced, untraditionally British cuisine, while The Bar provides a versatile space. The Roof boasts a bar and terrace with 360-degree views, and The Spa offers a subterranean retreat with state-of-the-art facilities. The design reflects the heritage of the two interconnected buildings.
