Dalata Hotel Group anticipates revenues exceeding €600m (£516m) for 2023, a notable increase from the €516m (£444m) reported in 2022. The adjusted EBITDA is expected to surpass €220m (£189m), up from €183m (£157m) the previous year. The group’s RevPAR for the second half of 2023 is projected to be 3% higher than 2022 levels. Operations have commenced at three new hotels in their portfolio, and the group looks forward to completing four more in 2024. Dalata’s CEO, Dermot Crowley, attributes this success to strong operational performance and strategic portfolio expansions, emphasising the company’s growth ambitions.
Conrad London St James has appointed Joan Rull Moreno as the new director of food and beverage. With a decade of leadership experience in hotel companies across Spain and Belgium, Moreno will oversee Conrad’s F&B team, managing various dining establishments, including the Blue Boar Pub and The Pem. The appointment follows significant investments in F&B, including the opening of new venues. Moreno aims to establish the hotel as a gastronomic icon, offering diverse British culinary experiences.
Great Scotland Yard Hotel, a part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt, has appointed Mario Flanagan as its new general manager. Flanagan, a seasoned hotelier with Hyatt, began his hospitality career in South Africa and has held various roles within the Hyatt group, including director of Rooms and executive assistant manager at Hyatt Regency Johannesburg, hotel manager at Hyatt Regency London, The Churchill, and general manager at Hyatt Regency Birmingham. His most recent role was as the general manager at Andaz London, Liverpool Street. Flanagan expressed delight at joining Great Scotland Yard Hotel and looks forward to leading the team in a fresh direction.
Wroxall Abbey Hotel in Warwick has introduced luxury outdoor hot tubs in secluded cabins overlooking the estate’s grounds. Guests can book these cabins, each featuring a four-seater hot tub and lounge area, for hourly or half-daily hire or as part of an overnight package. This marks the beginning of a substantial investment phase for the hotel, including plans for a state-of-the-art indoor spa, health club, and the renovation of the Courtyard Building. The hotel, under new management since September 2022, has obtained a wedding licence and introduced new menus, emphasising its commitment to transformation and becoming a premier venue.
