In Birmingham, The Grand Hotel has partnered with Michelin-starred restaurant Opheem to offer the Gourmet Getaway package. Priced from £299, the two-night package includes a stay at The Grand with breakfast, a Michelin-starred dinner experience at Opheem led by acclaimed chef Aktar Islam, and the hotel’s luxurious afternoon tea. The collaboration aims to showcase Birmingham’s growing reputation as a culinary destination and provide a world-class experience for guests.

Dubai-based Dutco Group, supported by Align Partners, has acquired Mar Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Scotland for a £15m investment. The new owners plan to rival Gleneagles by expanding and upgrading the property. Early design plans involve a sympathetic restoration of Mar Hall’s Scottish heritage with a modern twist, including new luxury woodland lodges, revitalised leisure and spa facilities, and a refurbishment of guestrooms and public spaces. The project is set to commence in early 2024.

Leisureplex Hotel Group has acquired the Waverley Castle Hotel in Melrose, Scotland, from the Coast and Country Hotel Collection. The undisclosed deal marks the 23rd property in the Leisureplex Collection. Situated in five acres of parkland with views of the Eildon Hills, the 77-bedroom Waverley Castle Hotel offers guests a scenic walk along the River Tweed into Melrose. The acquisition expands the Leisureplex portfolio and strengthens its presence in leading resort and leisure destinations across the UK.
