Everly Hotels is unveiling its inaugural property, The White Horses Rottingdean, in summer 2024, marking the first establishment in the Everly Hotels Collection. Situated in East Sussex, the hotel boasts 32 bedrooms and 290 covers with direct seafront access, offering uninterrupted views. The multi million-pound refurbishment draws inspiration from the property’s 1930s heritage, featuring contemporary and comfortable interiors. Each suite is uniquely named and designed to celebrate local legends, while a bespoke discovery bar showcases food, drink, and produce from local partners, enhancing the carefully curated menu. Vincent Madden, managing director of Everly Hotels Collection, emphasises the hotel’s commitment to supporting the local community through features like local produce and seasonal ingredients.
Luxury Family Hotels has revealed plans for the refurbishment of Fowey Hall in Cornwall and Moonfleet Manor in Dorset, scheduled for completion this year. Fowey Hall, a Victorian mansion overlooking the Fowey estuary, will relaunch in late spring with 20 new contemporary bedrooms and four Bay Suites. The renovated spa will also include a new outdoor pool with sea views. Moonfleet Manor’s substantial renovations include the addition of Fleethouse rooms with impressive views and a Science Room for children, complementing the hotel’s existing facilities like Escape Rooms and play areas.
UKH Scotland urges MPs to prioritise accommodation businesses in the Visitor Levy bill debate in the Scottish parliament. The association supports the 18-month implementation period, but concerns arise about the financial burden on hotels for implementing and administering the new levy charges. UKH proposes a cap on the levy, ensuring funds raised benefit the visitor economy. The association emphasises the need for a detailed economic assessment of the levy’s impact on accommodation businesses, the economy, and tourism in Scotland.
