The estate, dating back to the 17th century, includes a recently refurbished hotel and former members club situated on a sprawling 198-acre site. Birch Selsdon, the latest hotel on the property, opened in 2023 and offers 181 keys, two restaurants, three bars, meeting rooms, coworking space, and wellness facilities. Beaverbrook, spanning 475 acres, offers 57 rooms, four restaurants, two bars, and extensive recreational facilities. The hotel boasts 48 rooms, suites, and apartments, along with a bar, restaurant, and private dining room. This project represents a significant investment by Northumberland Estates in Alnwick’s tourist economy, with the aim of attracting a new generation of tourists and appealing to locals. The Pig plans to refurbish the property, rebranding it as The Pig- and The Village Pub, Cotswolds, with an expected opening in summer 2024.
