Radisson Hotel Group has announced its first Radisson Red hotel in Galway, Ireland, as part of the Crown Square development. Scheduled to open later this year, Radisson Red Galway will feature 177 rooms with designs inspired by art, music, and fashion. The eight-storey building, designed by Henry J. Lyons Architects, will offer views of Galway Bay and Clare hills from its rooftop bar and restaurant. The hotel will also include over 400 sqm of meeting and event space, developed by the Galway-based Rhatigan Group, who previously developed the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and Dublin Royal Convention Centre. Adela Cristea, vice president of business development at Radisson, expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting Galway’s vibrant atmosphere and cultural heritage as ideal for the Radisson Red brand. Padraic Rhatigan, principle of the Rhatigan Group, also expressed pride in bringing the hotel to Galway.

The Ardshiel Hotel in Campbeltown, originally a Victorian-era villa converted into a hotel in the 1950s, is now on the market. The property includes 10 en-suite rooms, a bar, lounge, garden restaurant, beer garden, and three-bedroom owner’s accommodation. Christie and Co, a specialist business property adviser, is handling the sale for the owners who are retiring from the hospitality industry. Tony Spence of Christie and Co noted that the owners, who have operated the hotel since 2008, have made significant capital investments, creating a profitable and sustainable business for future owners.

Giuseppe Federico has been appointed as the new head chef of NYnLON at Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars. Federico, with 10 years of experience in notable London hotels, will focus on enhancing the culinary experience, emphasising quality, sustainability, and local sourcing. His role includes crafting seasonal menus that reduce waste. NYnLON combines elements of New York and London comfort food. Federico expressed excitement about his new role and the launch of his bistro lunch menu in May, featuring dishes such as black Angus beef burger, NYnLON hotdog, vegan burger, and smoked salmon bagel.

Kimpton Fitzroy London has introduced a new dining space, Fitz’s Russell Sq., featuring a brasserie, a parlour, and the existing Fitz’s Bar. The restaurant will offer British cuisine with a modern twist and private dining rooms. Fitz’s Parlour will be adorned with an 18th-century stained-glass window and a mural by artist 2501. General manager Gareth Walsh highlighted the blend of timeless elegance and contemporary flair, aiming to provide unforgettable experiences that reflect the heritage of Kimpton Fitzroy London. He invited guests to enjoy the vibrant spirit of Bloomsbury in the new space.
