Ascott Limited (Ascott), a subsidiary of CapitaLand Investment (CLI), is expanding its European portfolio with six new properties. This includes introducing The Unlimited Collection and expanding the lyf brand. The expansion increases Ascott’s European units by 14%, extending its presence to 29 cities, including new locations in France and the UK. CEO Kevin Goh emphasised Europe’s strategic importance for Ascott’s growth, highlighting successful partnerships and conversion projects. Ascott also announced a strategic partnership with Chelsea Football Club, becoming the club’s official global hotels partner. This partnership includes managing the 232-unit stadium hotels at Stamford Bridge, set to rebrand as lyf Stamford Bridge London in 2025. The collaboration aims to offer exclusive experiences for Ascott Star Rewards members, leveraging Chelsea’s vast global fanbase to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Cheval Collection has reopened Cheval Phoenix House in London after a 15-month renovation focusing on sustainability. The property now features 34 apartments with energy-efficient amenities, including heat pumps, low-energy lighting, and water-efficient fixtures. The renovation process recycled 99.76% of construction waste and used sustainably-sourced materials. Cheval Collection saw a 14% increase in bookings and a 23.7% revenue rise in the first half of the year. The group plans to launch Cheval Maison – West Regent in Glasgow next year and expand further with new properties in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Managing director Mohammed S. Alawadhi emphasised the group’s commitment to luxury and sustainability in their expansions.

Marriott has opened The Reach at Piccadilly in Manchester, part of its Tribute Portfolio. The hotel, located in the city centre, features 215 guest rooms, eight suites, and a restaurant and bar named Lock 84. The design, led by ICA, transformed an existing aparthotel into a luxury hotel celebrating Manchester’s history. Stephen Bench, managing director of Lighthouse Hotel Management, highlighted the hotel’s local authenticity and warm welcome. Ross Morrow of Molo Hotel Group emphasised the meticulous design reflecting Manchester’s heritage, aiming to provide modern comforts and a deeper appreciation of the city’s vibrant history.

Five-star Seaton House in St Andrews has appointed Michael Davern as general manager ahead of its restoration and reopening in early 2025. Operated by Valor Hospitality Partners, the hotel will offer 42 luxury bedrooms and aims to employ 70 people. Davern, previously general manager at Anantara’s The Marker Hotel in Dublin, expressed excitement about restoring the local landmark and enhancing its community presence. Valor’s CEO, Euan McGlashan, praised Davern’s expertise and leadership, anticipating that his experience will ensure exceptional guest experiences and uphold Valor’s high standards of hospitality.
