Green Wood Parks Limited has expanded its business by acquiring Northcliffe and Seaview Holiday Parks, now owning 10 parks across the UK. This acquisition, arranged by Colliers, marks their most significant move in the North of England holiday park market. The parks, located in Whitby, cover 46 acres with 352 pitches and various amenities, including a café and a 5-star holiday cottage. Richard Moss from Colliers highlighted the strong market demand for such properties. Green Wood Parks co-owner Pratt expressed excitement about maintaining the parks’ high standards. Sue Martin, from the selling family, appreciated Colliers’ efforts to find a buyer with a similar family ethos, ensuring continuity and high standards for the parks.
7H has been awarded the management contract for Thornbury Castle, a historic luxury hotel in the Cotswolds, adding to their portfolio of 21 hotels. Thornbury Castle, dating back to the 16th century, features 27 bedchambers, including the luxurious Catherine of Aragon Tower Suite. Richard Ellison, CEO of 7H, emphasised their commitment to preserving the castle’s historical significance while enhancing the guest experience. The management aims to develop new facilities and maximise the property’s potential in collaboration with the hotel owners.
Holiday Inn Nottingham has completed a major refurbishment, enhancing its bedrooms, lobby, bar, breakfast area, outdoor seating, and meeting room. The renovation includes 37 third-floor bedrooms and the new Marina Suite, which can accommodate 100 guests. The updated bar and media area cater to remote workers, and the hotel features new artwork celebrating Nottingham’s history. Managed by Countrywide Hotels, the hotel’s general manager, Helen McConnell, highlighted the improvements aimed at enhancing guest experience and staff work environment. The renovation positions the hotel as an ideal destination for various events and hybrid working.
English Lakes Hotels Resorts and Venues, in partnership with Godfrey Owen Consulting, has launched a leadership and development programme for its staff. Six hospitality professionals from Cumbria are fast-tracked into an executive management career pathway. Participants, including Sofia Spadafora, Gary Tennant, Ruby Parker, Michael Eccles, Lynn Porter, and Harry Newton, will undergo specialised training, secondments, and mentoring from senior managers. The programme aims to develop leadership skills and promote career progression, enhancing staff retention and job satisfaction. Michael Kay, the group’s operations director, emphasised the importance of growth and staff development for the company’s success.
