Daish’s Holidays, a UK-based family-owned coach holiday group, has acquired The Sandringham Hotel in Weston-Super-Mare. This 92-bed hotel, located on the seafront in Victoria Square, is a key investment for Daish’s, aligning with their strategic goal of expanding to this popular coastal destination. The acquisition strengthens the company’s portfolio, which already spans England and Wales, and supports its long-term growth. George Brown, Daish’s managing director, emphasised the hotel’s prime location and its potential to offer traditional holiday experiences for their clientele. The hotel will maintain its character while integrating Daish’s successful business model.
Rob Van Eyck will become the new hotel manager of The Savoy in January 2025, bringing with him extensive experience in luxury hospitality. He joins from The Balmoral in Edinburgh, where he helped earn prestigious accolades, including Michelin Keys and Forbes 5-star ratings. Van Eyck will collaborate with The Savoy’s regional vice president, Franck Arnold, who has led the iconic hotel for over four years. Van Eyck’s appointment coincides with The Savoy’s ongoing renovations, including a room refurbishment set for completion in August 2025, and the opening of new dining and retail spaces. He aims to continue the hotel’s tradition of delivering top-tier guest experiences.
Parade House, a Grade I-listed Georgian building in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, has been listed for sale at a guide price of £950,000. Built around 1720, this historic property, originally a wealthy merchant’s residence, has been carefully restored and operates as a wedding and events venue. The house features period architectural elements, such as sash windows, marble fireplaces, and an 18th-century oak staircase. The current owners, Carey and Simon Tesler, have transformed it into a prestigious venue with modern amenities like a private bar, cinema, and event kitchen. The sale presents an opportunity for buyers to expand its event offerings or repurpose it.
Locate in Kent has launched a campaign to attract hotel operators and investors to meet growing visitor demand for luxury and mid-range accommodations. The campaign focuses on areas like Whitstable, Herne Bay, and Canterbury, and is spurred by developments like Otterpool Park near Folkestone. One notable project is a luxury hotel and spa at Betteshanger Park, approved in March 2024.
