Kostas Sfaltos has been appointed as the new general manager of The Berkeley and The Emory hotels, part of the Maybourne collection in London. With over 30 years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector, including his role as managing director of Bvlgari Hotel, Sfaltos brings a wealth of expertise. His new position will also see him overseeing Surrenne, Maybourne’s new well being-focused Member’s Club. Sfaltos expressed his excitement to join the innovative team at Maybourne. Roland Fasel, Maybourne’s COO, welcomed him, noting that his dynamic approach will enhance the continued success of The Berkeley and The Emory.

The Zetter hotel group is set to open its newest property, The Zetter Bloomsbury, in September 2025, marking its first new opening in a decade. Located near Russell Square and overlooking the British Museum, the hotel will feature one of the largest hotel gardens in London, with 9,687 square feet of landscaped space. The gardens will offer secluded areas for guests, as well as a barbecue area and an outdoor yoga pavilion. The Zetter aims to build on its reputation, creating a charming sanctuary in central London for both locals and international visitors.

Hospitality operator Bob W has appointed Hervé Deligny as its new CFO. With over 25 years of experience in financial leadership, Deligny has held senior positions at Accor Hotels and other companies. In his new role, he will support Bob W’s growth across Europe, focusing on the expansion of its aparthotel model, which blends hotel consistency with short-term rental flexibility. Bob W recently launched a joint venture with OCIM, targeting a £120m equity raise to transform 20-25 buildings into serviced apartments, with a development pipeline valued at £400m.

Hilton London Bankside has received certification from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), becoming the second UK hotel to achieve this recognition. The hotel was lauded for its work with local charities, including The Manna Society and Hospitality Action. Nadeem Boghani of Splendid Hospitality Group praised the team’s commitment to sustainability, viewing this as an important milestone in the group’s journey toward a more sustainable future.
