SeaSpace, Cornwall’s first lifestyle aparthotel, officially opened on 18 October. Located on Newquay’s east cliffs, SeaSpace merges the independence of self-catering with the luxuries of a lifestyle hotel. Developed over two years by the creators of Watergate Bay Hotel, the site offers guests self-contained studios and apartments with hotel-like amenities. Facilities include a health club, Miami-inspired pool, gym, and padel tennis courts. SeaSpace’s design reflects the Southwest coast, with its greens and blues echoing the scenery. The project is a modern reimagining of British seaside charm from the 1950s. Opening with 56 units, SeaSpace aims to expand to 72 by 2025, with additional plans for 24 lodges. General manager Mark Williams emphasises the community-focused and flexible stay experience, while CEO Ben Harper sees potential for scaling the concept along the UK coastline.

Tregarthen’s Hotel, located on the Isles of Scilly, has introduced four new waterfront lodges, enhancing its accommodations. These high-spec lodges offer sea views and duplex-style units that sleep up to two guests each. Funded by a business loan from Lloyds, the lodges are part of a larger renovation that has seen new bedrooms added and communal spaces revamped. Rob Baldry, Tregarthen’s director, highlighted the challenges of building on the Isles due to logistics, but also emphasised the importance of sustainable upgrades in harmony with the local environment. Tregarthen’s continues to invest in its staff, improving accommodations and training to retain seasonal workers.

Beaufort House, a block of 21 luxury serviced apartments in Knightsbridge, Central London, has been listed for sale. The property includes one to four-bedroom units, each featuring fully equipped kitchens, high-end living spaces, and deluxe bathrooms. Situated in a prime location near Hyde Park and Harrods, Beaufort House also offers excellent transport connectivity with nearby stations. Jeremy Jones from Christie and Co expects significant interest from domestic and international investors due to its rare availability in this prestigious area.

CDL Hospitality Trusts announced the acquisition of Hotel Indigo Exeter for £19.4m. This upscale boutique hotel, converted from a former House of Fraser, offers 104 rooms, a spa, and gym facilities. The acquisition aligns with CDLHT’s strategy of enhancing its portfolio with high-quality assets. CEO Vincent Yeo noted that the hotel’s prime location and modern design make it a valuable investment, especially with limited new hotel supply expected in Exeter. The hotel will continue operating under the Hotel Indigo brand, part of InterContinental Hotels Group.
