Perle Hotels has named Beth Rehman as managing director, becoming the second female MD of a hotel group in Scotland. This announcement coincides with the company’s tenth anniversary. Rehman, who has been with Perle since 2014, has a background in accounting and international leadership roles. Under her guidance, Perle Hotels, headquartered in Edinburgh, now operates five boutique hotels and four restaurants in Scotland, emphasizing sustainability and local sourcing. Plans for expansion include adding luxury accommodations to Bracken Hide by 2025 and opening a new Edinburgh hotel, The Edinburgh 16-20, in mid-2025.
Cartmel Old Grammar Country House in Cumbria, a Grade II-listed hotel and wedding venue, has been purchased by restaurateurs Lauren and Greg Foggo. The couple plans to enhance the property by adding accessible rooms and reopening the venue for boutique accommodation alongside weddings. The 18th-century building, located near Cartmel’s tourist attractions, features 12 ensuite rooms and event spaces. Known for its charm and historic significance, the property is set to provide a bespoke guest experience when it reopens in the New Year.
Dubai-based Dutco Group has acquired the Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh from Castleforge. The new owners will maintain current operations and plan upgrade works in 2025. Dutco’s second Scottish acquisition in a year reflects confidence in Scotland as a premier hospitality destination. Previously refurbished under Castleforge’s ownership, the Bruntsfield is well-regarded as a boutique hotel. Dutco aims to leverage its global expertise to further enhance the property’s reputation within Edinburgh’s vibrant hospitality market.
