Two luxury hotels are set to open in February 2025. Dunluce Lodge in Northern Ireland, located beside Royal Portrush Golf Club, will feature 35 luxury suites, dining showcasing local produce, a spa inspired by the coastal landscape, and a golf putting green designed by Martin Ebert. Complimentary transfers to nearby clubhouses and helipads enhance its appeal. Meanwhile, Seaton House in Scotland, formerly the Scores Hotel, will offer 42 luxury rooms near the iconic Old Course at St Andrews. Its dining, led by chef Roy Brett, includes the Ondine Oyster and Grill and other informal options. Guests will enjoy panoramic views of Fife’s coastline and landmarks such as St Andrews Bay and West Sands Beach.

The Victorian mansion house hotel in the Cotswolds is undergoing a £1.3m upgrade of 53 Courtyard Bedrooms, set for completion in May 2025. The rooms will feature modern amenities like walk-in showers, smart TVs, and luxury toiletries. This follows earlier renovations, including new Mansion House rooms and an upgraded restaurant. General manager Raphael Herzog emphasized the commitment to enhancing guest experiences.

A survey by BWH Hotels reveals financial struggles due to the October Budget. Over one-third of hoteliers anticipate costs rising by over £100,000, driven by increases in National Insurance and minimum wage. Consequently, 83% of hoteliers plan to cut staff hours, 77% will raise room and dining prices, and many will delay maintenance or limit staff pay raises. BWH Hotels CEO Tim Rumney highlighted the pressures on an industry still recovering from COVID-19 and economic challenges, warning of potential impacts on customer experience and business sustainability.
