Britannia Hotels has acquired the Crowne Plaza Felbridge in West Sussex from MCAP Global Finance (UK) LLP for an undisclosed sum. The 116-room hotel features extensive facilities, including a health club, spa, bar, restaurant, and event spaces, including The Grand Ballroom for up to 500 guests. Britannia’s CEO, Robert Ferrari, announced that the property will be rebranded as ‘Elite Venue Selection Felbridge’ and emphasized plans for investment to enhance its appeal. The sale was handled by Christie & Co, with executives noting positive momentum in the UK’s hotel investment market.
Blackpool Council has approved an £8m grant agreement with Ashall Hospitality LLP to explore the transformation of the former Abingdon Street Post Office into an Indigo Hotel. The £26m development, funded partly through the UK Government’s Capital Regeneration Fund, will proceed in two phases: an initial viability study followed by full construction. Cllr Mark Smith highlighted the building’s historic value and the potential for job creation.
