Billesley Manor, a luxury hotel in Warwickshire, will transition to Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio in April 2025. This move will provide guests access to Marriott’s global network and loyalty program while maintaining the hotel’s independent ownership and unique character. TROO Hospitality will oversee the transition, ensuring smooth integration. The hotel, set in an 11-acre estate, is undergoing continuous refurbishment to enhance its offerings, including wedding and corporate event spaces. General manager Jason Mayglothling emphasized the hotel’s commitment to exceptional service and community engagement, ensuring that local businesses and employment continue to thrive.

The Gables Hotel in Gretna, a well-established wedding and corporate venue, is on the market for offers over £1m. Originally built in 1917, the hotel has expanded to 31 en-suite rooms, including luxury bridal suites, with the potential for nine additional rooms. The property features multiple dining and event spaces, manicured gardens, and parking for 50 vehicles. Strategically located near major transport links, it benefits from Gretna’s thriving wedding industry, hosting thousands of ceremonies annually. Colliers’ hotels agency team is managing the sale, highlighting its strong financial performance and potential for further growth.

IHG has acquired the Ruby Hotels brand for €110.5m (£91.77m) amid strong financial growth in 2024, reporting a 10% rise in operating profit to $1.12bn (£888.1m). The acquisition adds Ruby’s 20 hotels and 10 pipeline projects to IHG’s expanding portfolio, with plans to grow the brand to over 120 hotels within 10 years. Ruby, known for its premium urban lifestyle concept, aligns with IHG’s strategy to expand into attractive city destinations. CEO Elie Maalouf emphasized Ruby’s potential in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, citing its efficient, franchise-friendly model as a key driver for future expansion.

Madfabulous Hotels will open its first venture, Hyll, in early summer 2025 in the North Cotswolds. The boutique retreat, set in a restored 17th-century manor house on a 60-acre estate, will feature 26 rooms, a restaurant, lounges, and a bar, with panoramic views. A new wedding and corporate event space, Bower, will launch in 2026. Founded by Paul Baker and Sarah Ramsbottom, Hyll aims to provide a slow-paced, restorative travel experience. The hotel will focus on comfort, arts, and literature, with premium amenities to enhance relaxation.
