Zetland Capital has secured a £70m refinancing deal with Leumi UK to support upgrades to the Edinburgh Marriott Holyrood and Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly. The loan, facilitated with advisory services from Burges Salmon, will help enhance the 160-room Edinburgh Marriott and the 338-room Manchester Marriott. Zetland’s founder, Ahmed Hamdani, emphasized the strategic importance of these investments in strong tourism and business travel markets. Limestone Capital has acquired the five-star Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch, aligning with its strategy of investing in high-end hospitality assets in major urban centers. Additionally, the firm has acquired a majority stake in Loisium Wine and Spa Hotels and plans to invest over €100m (£83m) to expand the brand with four new hotels in Italy and France. The moves strengthen Limestone’s presence in key European markets. The Glasgow Marriott Hotel has completed a multi-million-pound refurbishment, including its Leisure Club, Fitness Centre, and spa facilities. The transformation, which upgraded guest rooms, added new suites, and introduced Executive Rooms, also features a 12-metre indoor heated pool, sauna and steam rooms, and personalized fitness programs. General Manager Chris McGuinness highlighted the hotel’s commitment to providing a complete wellness experience for guests. Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, a hospitality complex in Bilsborrow known for hosting Guy’s Oyster Festival, is now on the market after 44 years under the Wilkinson family's ownership. The 14-acre site includes a tavern, restaurant, function rooms, and 65 letting rooms across cottages and a converted farmhouse by the Lancaster Canal. The business has planning consent for an additional 18 suites and presents significant growth opportunities. Colliers anticipates strong interest in the sale due to its unique appeal and strong trading history.
