The Cliffe at Dinham, a three-star hotel in Ludlow, has been acquired by The Nawab Hotels Ltd, a UK-based company owned by Your Travel Ltd, an Asian hospitality group. Previously run by Paul and Barbara Brooks for 15 years, the hotel has been enhanced significantly and is home to a four AA Rosette-awarded restaurant. The new owners plan to maintain its legacy while making strategic improvements. Faiyaz A. Nawab, founder of The Nawab Hotels Ltd, expressed excitement about expanding into the UK market and enhancing the hotel’s already strong reputation. The sale was handled by Peter Brunt of Colliers, who highlighted the hotel’s strong trading history and potential for further growth.
The Cottage Inn, a coaching inn in Dunstan, Northumberland, is now on the market for over £1.25m. The property includes 10 ensuite rooms, a restaurant, a bar, owners’ accommodation, and sits on five acres of land with gardens and woodlands. Close to tourist attractions such as Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle, the inn is well-positioned to attract visitors year-round. Mark Worley of Christie and Co, overseeing the sale, emphasized the inn’s development potential for a hospitality business in this scenic region.
Maybourne Hotels Group has appointed Thomas Kochs as managing director of Claridge’s in Mayfair. Kochs previously managed Claridge’s from 2009 to 2015 and has since held senior roles at luxury hotel brands, including The Set and Corinthia Hotels. His return aligns with Maybourne’s growth plans, and he will oversee Claridge’s next chapter following its extensive seven-year restoration, which added new suites, a penthouse, a spa, an art gallery, and other luxury facilities. Maybourne’s COO, Roland Fasel, praised Kochs’ leadership and commitment to excellence.
Bird Group, which operates Roseate Hotels and Resorts, has acquired Beechfield House, a luxury boutique hotel in Wiltshire. Originally a family home built in 1878, it was converted into a hotel in the 1960s. Set on eight acres, the property features Victorian architecture, an outdoor pool, and multiple event spaces. It has received several awards, including the AA Inspectors’ Choice Country House Hotel 2024-25 and two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence. Gaurav Bhatia, executive director of Bird Group, expressed enthusiasm about adding Beechfield House to their portfolio and continuing its high standards of hospitality.
