The Connaught has unveiled The Connaught Suite Collection, a new offering within its recently restored suites and rooms programme. The five-star Mayfair hotel now provides a curated range of in-suite experiences reflecting the art of “fine living,” including martinis from The Connaught Bar, pâtisserie by Nicolas Rouzaud, bespoke massages from Aman Spa, and services like shoeshines by John Lobb. Guests also gain access to a film collection curated by the British Film Institute. The restoration, led by designer Guy Oliver and architect Michael Blair, introduced 34 individually designed suites. The Connaught remains a top culinary destination with restaurants by Hélène Darroze, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Nicolas Rouzaud.
Hyatt Hotels has appointed Kristin Oliver as its new chief human resources officer, effective May 2025. She succeeds Malaika Myers, who is retiring after seven years. Oliver brings 15 years of HR leadership experience from companies including Walmart and HanesBrands, and will oversee Hyatt’s global HR strategy. CEO Mark Hoplamazian praised both Oliver’s strategic insight and Myers’ transformative leadership, particularly her work on wellbeing and the RiseHY youth employment programme.
Crieff Hydro has completed a £5m refurbishment, unveiling six new bar and restaurant venues in what it calls one of its largest-ever investments. The project seeks to retain its family appeal while attracting younger guests. New additions include EAST, The Ballroom Bar, and The Winter Garden, along with Loggia, a panoramic brunch and tea venue. Menus across all venues emphasize Scottish-sourced ingredients. Chief executive Stephen Leckie and associate director Charlie Leckie emphasised the importance of contemporary dining experiences that remain rooted in Crieff Hydro’s history.
Starhotels has named Stefano Squecco as the new cluster general manager for its three London properties: The Pelham, The Gore, and The Franklin. Squecco brings years of luxury hospitality experience, having held senior roles at London’s St. James’s Hotel and Club and Pennyhill Park. He plans to lead upcoming developments across all three hotels, including refreshed menus and afternoon tea offerings curated by Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo. Starhotels Collezione includes 14 luxury properties across key cities, soon expanding to 15.
