NPD adds fourth Yorkshire hotel to its collection

Hotel and leisure group Northern Powerhouse Developments (NPD) has added another Yorkshire property to its growing portfolio of UK hotels.

The Halifax-based developers completed the purchase of Pennine Manor Hotel at the start of the year, taking the number of operational hotels it now owns across the country to 11.

Located on the outskirts of Huddersfield, Pennine Manor features 31 bedrooms, the hotel enjoys unrivalled views across the rolling countryside and is a hugely popular venue for weddings and functions.

NPD said it plans to “further enhance the guest experience” by transforming the hotel into a “stand-out retreat destination” with a refurbishment that will see the introduction of a new spa complex.

NPD chairman Gavin Woodhouse said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the arrival of our fourth hotel in Yorkshire and look forward to opening the doors at Pennine Manor.

Already established as an idyllic wedding venue, our plan is to undertake a rolling schedule of refurbishments, which will further enhance its reputation and build upon its perfect position in this beautiful and much-visited part of the world.”

In addition, the group also plans to introduce an al fresco bar and dining area to the hotel.

Pennine Manor joins The Esplanade in Scarborough, The Imperial Crown in Halifax and The Old Golf House Hotel in Huddersfield in NPD’s Yorkshire portfolio of hotels.

Woodhouse added: “Yorkshire has long been a hugely popular tourist destination for a global audience but following high-profile events like the Tour de Yorkshire, huge investment into tourism and the regeneration of so many towns and cities across the region, demand for quality accommodation in Yorkshire continues to soar and we are delighted to be able to offer that across all our hotels.”
