Super Break and Late Rooms enter administration

Holiday firms Super Break and Late Room hotels, both owned by the Malvern Group, have entered administration, affecting around 50,000 travellers.

Super Break was founded in the early 80s and offers short city breaks in the UK and abroad and is estimated to employ around 250 people.

A statement by the group revealed Super Break hotel-only holidays would be cancelled and people currently on holiday “might have to pay again”. However it “anticipated” bookings through Late Rooms should be secure.

ABTA, the travel trade body of which Super Break is a member, said: “If you have booked a holiday with Super Break, we regret that all bookings that have not departed may be cancelled.

“The vast majority of holidaymakers’ travel arrangements will be covered through one of a number of different types of financial protection. If you are currently on a Super Break holiday, you should be able to continue with your trip as planned.”

ABTA added that Super Break has around 400 customers on holiday overseas or in the UK currently.

Malvern has appointed ‘Big Four’ accountancy firm KPMG as administrators.
