New GM joins Ibis Styles Heathrow East Hotel ahead of opening

Ibis Styles Heathrow East has appointed Waqas Bin Tahir as its new general manager ahead of its opening.

The new 1930s-inspired hotel, which is the fourth franchise partnership between AccorHotels and Splendid Hospitality Group, is due to open in November 2019 in Hounslow.

Bin Tahir has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in both Radisson and Ibis Styles hotels for over 14 years. In addition to this, he has an MSc in Tourism Management from Surrey University which ranks top five in the world for tourism.

For the past seven years, he has worked in general manager roles at Ibis Southampton Centre, Ibis Budget Portsmouth and Ibis Budget London Hounslow, making him the perfect candidate for this new GM role.

At Ibis Styles Heathrow East, Bin Tahir will use his “honed skills and expert knowledge” to drive the business forward and develop an “empowered team through a collaborative approach”.

He added he aims to create a culture with “genuine, first-class customer service” and effectively manage his team to “positively contribute” to the local community through continuous engagement, with people always at the heart of the business.

Bin tahir aid: “Ibis provides limitless opportunities for innovation and creativity, along with extensive learning possibilities within the brand.

“This is a great opportunity to lead the opening of a new hotel and set the foundations for creating extraordinary experiences for our guests. Each Ibis Styles hotel is unique, just like our team will be”.
