Palm Holdings acquires Days Hotel Waterloo

Days Hotel Waterloo has been sold to Palm Holdings, which will operate it under its subsidiary Waterloo Hub Hotel Ltd, on behalf of administrators Smith and Williamson for an undisclosed sum.

The Days Hotel comprises 162 bedrooms and sits in a prime Central London location close to Lambeth North and Waterloo stations. It is also in close proximity to major tourist hotspots such as the Imperial War Museum, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

The hotel, which went into administration in March earlier this year, will continue to trade under the Days Hotel brand, which is part of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, under a temporary operating agreement whilst the new owners consider “various options” in repositioning the hotel.

The combination of the hotels within The Edinburgh Collection, together with the Days Hotel, Waterloo, means the Palm Holdings group now owns and operates over 600 bedrooms with over 150 staff in the UK.

Jeremy Jones, head of brokerage – hotels at Christie and Co, said: “There was very significant interest in the hotel with over 150 signed NDAs for the property from a wide range of UK and International institutional and private property investors and hotel operators.

“The Palm Holdings offer was eventually accepted after a number of bidding rounds and put them in front of the other bidders because of their knowledge of the property, their level of engagement and ability to complete the transaction very quickly.”
