Shepherd Cox acquires Crab and Manor hotel

National hotel group, Shepherd Cox, has acquired the Crab and Manor hotel along with the Crab and Lobster restaurant.

The five-star, 20-bedroom hotel in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, was founded in 1991, and the property’s themes range from The Ritz to the Bellagio – with rooms drawing inspiration from destinations across the world.

Lee Bramzell, founder of the Shepherd Cox hotel group, said: “We’re incredibly delighted to be able to add the Crab Manor hotel and its restaurant, the Crab and Lobster, to our ever growing and impressive portfolio of hotels.

“I’m happy to say that, with this new acquisition, we are only going from strength to strength as our portfolio of hotels grows and drives the business forward.”

It comes after the Shepherd Cox group also purchased a three-AA-starred, 103-bedroom hotel in Lincolnshire called The Olde Barn in February. Following the deal brokered by Irwin Leisure on Thursday 27 February, Shepherd Cox bought the establishment to “bolster” its portfolio of hotels.

Previous acquisitions have included the likes of The Bridge Hotel and Spa in Wetherby, Wroxton House Hotel in Banbury, The George Coaching Inn in Piercebridge and the Three Ways House Hotel which is also the home of The Pudding Club.
