Fire at derelict Gloucestershire hotel treated as arson

A fire which broke out at the Newport Towers Hotel in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, is being treated as suspected arson.

Gloucestershire Constabulary said at around 2am on Sunday 6 September they were notified by the fire service that there was a large fire at the disused property.

Road closures were put in place while emergency services were at the scene. Police said they are liaising with Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and the incident is being treated as “suspected arson”.

Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call 101 or submit this online through the Constabulary’s website quoting incident 48 of 6 September.
