Harbour Hotels acquires two new properties

Harbour Hotels has announced the acquisition of two new properties in Bristol and Salcombe.

The group, which focuses on coastal locations in the South of England, said it has acquired two properties in addition to a site in Brighton – which it confirmed earlier this year.

Currently operating under the Umbi brand, the Brighton property will be transformed into the 77-bedroom Brighton Harbour Hotel Spa with what the company claims is the city’s only rooftop pool.

In Bristol, the group has acquired two former bank buildings on Corn Street, which it will link together to create a 42-bedroom city centre hotel, featuring a restaurant and an event space.

Meanwhile, the announcement of its second property in Salcombe will see it take over the 35-bedroom ‘Tides Reach’ hotel in which it plans to build a new 40-bedroom wing.

Mike Warren, managing director, said: “These acquisitions further illustrate our ambitious growth plans; becoming one of the UK’s most exciting hotel brands. Expanding into cities such as Bristol and Brighton brings a new dimension to the group, with properties now featured in coastal, country and city locations.”
