The Hospitality Guild has signed a sponsorship deal with national drinks wholesaler Matthew Clark towards the development and fit out of its state-of-the-art training and meeting centre, Hospitality House.

Matthew Clark is supporting Hospitality House with a significant donation over three years to supply the bar training area of the facility. The company will also provide licensed bar training within Hospitality House to Guild staff and members, create training videos and host industry events on the premises.

Mike Fisher, head of retail marketing at Matthew Clark, commented: “We knew as soon as we heard about Hospitality House that it was a project we really wanted to be involved with. It fits in with our belief that the experience matters so we were keen to be involved with this initiative supporting great customer experience. This flagship training venue will help to unite the hospitality industry as well as to train and develop the next generation of industry leaders. We are delighted to become patrons of Hospitality House and demonstrate our commitment to improving professional development and the reputation of this great industry.”

Suzy Jackson, executive director for the Hospitality Guild, said: “We are delighted to welcome Matthew Clark to the list of high-profile hospitality employers supporting Hospitality House. This is a positive example of the industry’s desire to work together to create a tangible symbol of what we can achieve collaboratively.”

“The Hospitality Guild’s key objective is that of setting high standards for professional development in our industry and gaining the support of an organisation with the excellent reputation of Matthew Clark shows that there is a genuine will within the industry to make this a reality,” she added.

The refurbishment of Hospitality House is currently taking place and the venue will open for bookings in June 2013 with a full launch in September.

The building was donated rent-free by McDonald’s as the principal benefactor of Hospitality House, and industry suppliers and leading employers such as Gram Commercial, Electrolux, Heineken, Compass Group UK, Hilton and People 1st have also rallied to the cause, providing sponsorship and state of the art equipment for the facility. The building work is being carried out by Claremont Group Interiors.
