Lincolnshire hotel named best in East of England

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

The Washingborough Hall near Lincoln was at the Best Loved Hotel Awards in Gloucestershire recently to receive the trophy for Hotel of the Year in the East of England region.

The Best Loved Hotel Awards are designed to celebrate and showcase excellence across Best Loved properties throughout Britain and Ireland. Nominations opened in June 2017 and Best Loved customers were invited to nominate hotels where they had stayed and experienced ‘best in class’ stays.

The hotel was also the recipient of the Wedding Venue of the Year at the Taste of Excellence Food and Drink Awards and its head chef was named Chef of the Year.

Edward Herring, owner of Washingborough Hall, said: “2017 has been an important year for us as we have significantly increased in size and stature and to be voted the best hotel in the whole of the East of England should stand us in good stead for the future.

Lincolnshire is a beautiful part of the world and anything we can do to attract more visitors is not only good for us but also for the county and the local economy which we are very keen to support.”
