A UK-wide hotel management company has taken over the operation of one of Newquay’s finest hotels as it moves into Cornwall for the first time.

Legacy Hotels and Resorts has signed a three-year deal to manage and operate The Hotel Victoria in East Street.

Current owners the, Taylor family, who have owned the venue for the last 40 years, will continue to operate the on-site Mexican restaurant, an Irish bar and a 2,100 capacity nightclub – the biggest in Cornwall.

Richard Taylor said: “Legacy Hotels and Resorts has a fantastic track-record in the industry of driving hotels forward.”

“I am sure Jim, the managing director of legacy Hotels and Resorts, and his team will take the hotel from strength to strength.”

“We were keen to appoint an established hotel management company to take over the day-to-day running of the Victoria while I concentrate on the bar, club and restaurant

Jim Gordon, managing director of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said: “The Taylor family has run the Victoria hotel to extremely high standards over the last four decades and this will be an exciting addition to our portfolio.”
