Christie and Co has completed the sale of the Best Western Bradford Guide Post Hotel to JDP Hotels Group for an undisclosed amount.
The hotel comprises 42 recently refurbished bedrooms and suites, a 20-cover bar, a fully licensed restaurant with space for 85-covers which is currently closed and two large conference and events suites.
The previous owner, Alexander Guthe has owned and operated the hotel since 1998 and made the decision to sell to pursue other property ventures.
JDP revealed it plans to continue to run the Guide Post Hotel under the current umbrella of Best Western, with the existing management team remaining in place.
Commenting on the purchase, family member, Pratik Paw, said: “Despite the difficult times, our group has confidence in the recovery of the hospitality sector in the medium term, particularly established hotels with a good reputation and a proven onsite management team, such as the Guide Post Hotel.”
The Guide Post Hotel was marketed by David Lee, regional director in Christie and Co’s Hospitality team.
Lee said: “We were delighted to work with the owners of this hotel and achieve a sale in a short period of time. Marketing commenced in October 2020 and there were a number of interested parties.
“A transaction completing in less than 6 months from instruction to completion is an achievement we are proud of. We would like to thank Mr Guthe for the opportunity to sell his hotel and would very much like to wish JDP Hotels every success in their new venture.”
He added: “The market for selling hotels as demonstrated by this sale remains surprisingly robust considering the macro environment.”
