Edwardian Hotels London has announced that its “super boutique hotel”, The Londoner, will open to the public in September 2021.

Situated in Leicester Square, the hotel will feature 350 guest rooms, suites, and a tower penthouse with panoramic views.

It will also house two private screening rooms, a mix of six concept eateries – including bars and a tavern, al fresco dining on the ground floor, and a contemporary Japanese lounge bar with a rooftop terrace and fire pit.

The building which is 16-storeys will also host an “expansive ballroom” for social occasions, a variety of meeting spaces, and a gym and wellness centre.

As a brand-new build in London, the group has said it will employ “pioneering methods” of “sustainable luxury” with the hotel securing a £175m ‘Green Loan’ from HSBC UK – with the funding being used to ensure hotel meets the BREEAM Excellent category in building environmental and sustainable performance.

Edwardian Hotels London is one of the UK’s largest privately-owned hotel groups. It currently operates five- and four-star luxury hotels, including The May Fair and The Edwardian Manchester
