Qbic plans expansion with four London hotels

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Qbic Hotel is planning four new hotels over the next two years, with a focus on the capital for its expansion.

Qbic London, which opened in November, has helped to fast-track Qbic’s projected growth plans “beyond expectations”.

The Qbic hotel opened in a disused office block on Adler Street in Shoreditch, and features “innovative design”, “sustainable practices” and “community initiatives.” Prices start from £69 per night for a room.

Paul Janmaat, business development director of Qbic, said: “Qbic is an incredibly strong investment opportunity for real estate owners and developers. It offers the best formula in the world to transform existing office space into high-margin, budget economy hotels.

“Essentially, it’s a great way to fill empty real estate with a valuable concept that has already demonstrated high returns. Where the building on Adler Street was previous vacant, thanks to Qbic it is now producing income for the landlord.”

Janmaat added that Qbic is now seeking sites in Camden, Borough, Vauxhall and Southwark.
