The Belmond Cadogan Hotel in Chelsea, London has announced the departure of general manager, Klaus Kabelitz.

Kabelitz steps down from his position 10 months after he led the opening of the hotel group’s first London site.

He joined the team at Belmond nearly five years ago, from Le Richemond Geneva, a Dorchester Collection site he managed since April 2012.

Earlier this year, LVMH  Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton acquired the hotel group for £2bn, to reinforce its “place among the international leaders in luxury.”

Some notable properties in Belmond’s portfolio include Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Hotel Splendido in Portofino, Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg, Maroma Resort & Spa in Mexico, Hotel das Cataratas in the Iguassu National Park in Brazil and Cap Juluca in Anguilla.

A spokesperson for Belmond Cadogan Hotel said: “We can confirm that Klaus Kabelitz has decided to step down from his role as general manager of Belmond Cadogan Hotel to pursue another opportunity in the new year, to be announced in due course.

“Belmond would like to thank Klaus for leading the successful opening of the company’s first London property and wish him well for the future. We look forward to announcing a successor to this role in the coming week.”
