Northern Ireland’s independent hotel group, Hastings Hotels, has appointed Peter Gibson as its new finance director.

Gibson has held previous roles at global workspace provider IWG, where he worked for 16 years. Most recently he held the position of UK chief financial officer for almost a decade.

During this time, he was responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the UK business including corporate strategy, financial planning and analysis as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to this, Gibson worked for professional services firm Deloitte, holding positions in Belfast, London and Melbourne.

He said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this role at such an exciting time for Hastings Hotels.

“As one of Northern Ireland’s largest employers, with a renowned reputation with guests around the world, the Group has had a fantastic period of growth and I look forward to working with the chairman, board of directors and employees in the seven hotels to ensure the profitable, long-term success of the company.”

Edward Carson, chairman of Hastings Hotels, added: “I am pleased to announce Peter Gibson as the new finance director of Hastings Hotels.

“Peter brings with him extensive experience from his previous roles and in today’s economic climate, with a lot of challenges across the industry, I am confident that he has the skills and expertise required to ensure the continued growth of Hastings Hotels.”
