Independent Hotel Show postponed until October 2021

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

The Independent Hotel Show has revealed it has taken the decision to postpone the event until October 2021 due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

In an update to exhibitors it said it has seen the “significant impact” the coronavirus is having across the world and noted that the pressure on the whole industry currently is “huge”.

It added that following feedback from the community, as well as information from the government and public health authorities it is with “deep sadness and heavy hearts” that it made the “difficult decision” to postpone the event until 4-5 October 2021.

Originally the show was expected to take place on October 5-6 at Olympia London and was slated to be hosted in a larger event hall for the first time.

The Independent Hotel Show said: “We are truly in awe of the resilience, innovation and kindness that we have seen from so many within our industry and understand how important it is to stay connected during this time which is why we have launched the Montgomery Group Series; weekly webinars with Q&As from leading industry figureheads.

“If you have missed any of our webinars, you can watch them here. Plus, we will continue to share inspiring stories from suppliers and the community to help keep you motivated and updated on how to stay ahead in this current climate.”

It continued: “On behalf of all of us here at Independent Hotel Show, thank you again for your continued support and understanding. We look forward to once again bringing the hotel community together under one roof at Olympia London next year.”
