Hotel chain Travelodge has opened its first hotel in Llandudno, Wales on the site of the former Clarence House hotel on Gloddaeth Street.
The 82-room Llandudno Travelodge, which cost £5m and has created 15 jobs, is part of a mixed-use development programme which will include three retail units on the ground floor of the building.
The hotel, which will be managed by Joanne Cawthray, has been designed inline with the brand’s new look, which includes a new room design created by its customers, and the new Travelodge ‘Dreamer Bed’.
It was officially opened by the Mayor of Llandudno, Councillor Malcolm Bullock and Travelodge’s CFO, Jo Boydell.
Boydell said: “We are delighted to [be] making history today by opening our first Travelodge in Llandudno, which is also the first branded hotel in the town centre.
“Llandudno is a great location for Travelodge and by offering great quality rooms at unbeatable prices we are perfectly positioned as the county’s favourite hotel brand for value, which will help attract new visitors to the area.”
