Beacon welcomes industry speakers to its largest-ever exhibition

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Purchasing company Beacon is celebrating its largest ever exhibition after welcoming hospitality operators to Manchester Central on 26 January.

The exhibition, which included workshops from several industry leading speakers, gave customers and suppliers the opportunity to discuss industry issues and share best-practice tips.

The workshops began with a guide to navigating the National Living Wage by employment law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP, followed by talks on the power of brands in the hospitality market by Crispian Tarrant from BDRC Continental.

Other workshops included Dulux’s 2016 design trends with Marianne Shillingford, creative director at the company, and a spirit trends workshop and a tasting masterclass from Bacardi.

More than 70 of Beacon’s suppliers exhibited on the day, including brands such as Kellogg’s, Dulux and Heineken.

Paul Connelly, managing director at Beacon, said: “We are delighted with the success of our largest ever exhibition and we are already seeing positive feedback from suppliers and customers alike.

“Events such as this are invaluable for us as it gives us the opportunity to meet with customers face to face and discuss the range of services we can offer to help their business thrive. The National Living Wage workshop was hugely popular, highlighting just how much support small businesses will need when the National Living Wage is implemented this April.”
