Richard Haworth expands sales department with family appointment

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Ruia Group (Richard Haworth) has boosted its expanding sales department with a family appointment.

Nikita Ruia, 26, has joined the family-run bed, bath and table linen supplier as the company’s London-based business development manager. Based in the West End, Nikita will concentrate on developing leads and strengthening relationships with Richard Haworth’s South East clients.

The niece of Richard Haworth’s managing director, Raj Ruia, Nikita is the first in the next generation of Ruias to join the business. Her father, Vimal Ruia, heads up SockShop, another Ruia Group business.

Ruia, who previously worked as a Chartered Accountant in Grant Thornton’s entrepreneurial services tax department, will focus on building relationships and promoting the Richard Haworth brand.

Ruia said: “I’m excited to being part of the family business. My Dad and my uncles are my role models and I am looking forward to learning new skills from them and helping them in any way I can.

“Raj and I both studied law and went on to work in accounting, so I feel like I’m following in his footsteps by joining the Richard Haworth team.

She added: “Of course I have an additional vested interest in the success of Richard Haworth because of the Ruia name. I hope the extra drive will benefit the company and lead to even further success.”

Based at Lancashire’s Kearsley Mill, which first opened in 1906, Richard Haworth maintains one of the last remaining cut and sew manufacturing operations in the UK.

Richard Haworth’s high quality and exceptionally durable products have been specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of the hotel and catering trade.

Raj Ruia said: “We’re constantly looking to grow the business to meet our customers’ needs. Nikita’s new London-based role is a result of increasing customer demand and rising numbers of new web and telephone leads from the South.”
