Travelodge opens fifth Bristol hotel

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Budget hotel brand Travelodge has opened its fifth hotel in Bristol, as part of its ongoing expansion plans.

The new purpose-built 90-bedroom Bristol Filton Travelodge is the company’s 533 hotel and features a bar cafe and on-site car park.

The property, which represents an investment of £7.5m for the landlord and is expected to create 25 new jobs, has been designed in the company’s new contemporary brand design and includes its upgraded room concept, which was created by customers.

The chairman of Filton Town Council, Councillor Darryl Collins joined Travelodge revenue director, Tom Edwards and the hotel’s manager, Jonus Yang to officially open the new hotel at an opening ceremony.

Yang said: “We are delighted to open our fifth hotel in Bristol. The local economy is growing at pace and there is an increasing need for good quality accommodation at a great value price from visiting business and leisure travellers.”
