The Institute of Hospitality has announced Peter Ducker FIH as its chief executive, as of 2 January 2013.

Peter has served as an executive councillor and trustee of the Institute of Hospitality, and is currently the executive director of the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA), of which he is a founder member.

Peter said: “I have been a member of the Institute of Hospitality throughout my career and I strongly believe in the importance of good education and continuous professional development to attract and retain the quality of management that the hospitality industry requires today. I am honoured to succeed Philippe as its chief executive and look forward to steering the Institute through a new chapter in its history.”

Outgoing chief executive Philippe Rossiter added: “We are delighted to welcome Peter into his new role. With his broad industry experience and his particular expertise in sales, marketing and management, he is well-positioned to take the Institute forward.”
