Leasowe Castle reveals its £3m refurbishment

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Leasowe Castle in Wirral has unveiled its new look following a £3m rebranding and refurbishment.

Efforts were made during the refurbishment to ensure the property retained its historical 16th Century heritage, as well as paying homage to Wirral’s rare bird; the oystercatcher.

The refurbishment aimed to update and modernise the interior of the castle, including an overhaul of the venue’s 47 bedrooms. Its in-house restaurant brasserie 1593 and its Knights Cocktail bar have also been updated as part of the development.

Mike Dewey, general manager, said: “To ensure that the property stays true to its roots, the new branding simply enhances what we are all about in an emotive and symbolic manner.

“In addition to the new look branding, the castle’s interior has been transformed to create an inviting and accessible space for residents and those visiting for the day or night. As part of the developments, our core focus will now put an increased emphasis on being a glorious destination for dining and drinking, private occasions and corporate events.”
