Citadines Islington London, the newest addition to the Citadines Apart’hotel portfolio in London, has won ‘Best Property’ at the 2021 Serviced Apartment Awards.

The awards are said to recognise the “outstanding dedication” of the industry during the course of the pandemic, as well as “those making a difference in how the industry operates”.

Citadines Islington, part of The Ascott Limited, is housed in an Edwardian building within the new Islington Square development, on the borough’s bustling Upper Street.

The apartments reportedly enable guests to “live like a local”, and each include a fully equipped kitchen, separate bedroom, private bathroom, living area, and flat screen TV with Chromecast.

The units also include “ample” space for guests to relax and work, with a separate living area and working space with a desk and free unlimited WiFi.

Each deluxe room category also comes equipped with a yoga mat, for use in the apartment or in the property’s Fitness Corner with gym equipment.

Judges of the awards said: “The staff and customer engagement strategies are incredible and the innovation in the set-up of the service is wonderful. For a newly established business, the sales and marketing plan was very smartly designed and executed, and the overall performance is a just indication of the level of effort and dedication that is put in place.

“I was particularly impressed with both the internal and external wellbeing of both staff and clients, with yoga, bike hire and ‘Space as a service’ that can also be used for fitness and EAP and mental health support for their staff.”

Billy Hughes, area manager UK, The Ascott Limited, said: “Winning Best Property at the Serviced Apartment Awards is a huge accolade and it’s a reflection of the talent and commitment of the whole team at Citadines Islington London, and the wider team at Ascott, who worked so hard to launch this property.

“This award highlights our expertise in developing new properties, and despite the pandemic, we continue to open new apart’hotels in key locations around the world. The team has shown fantastic dedication and I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved and I’m excited to see what the next few years hold.”
