The Mystery Partnership launches Covid-19 Hospitality Audit programme

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Hospitality customer service and quality assessment company, The Mystery Partnership, has launched a Covid-19 Hospitality Audit programme to help the hospitality industry rebound once lockdown measures end.

Establishing 50 objective and measurable best practice principles and standards, its aim is to assist hospitality businesses in reassuring returning guests in the wake of the coronavirus crisis by prioritising hygiene and safety.

With many prospective guests fearful of the ongoing pandemic, The Mystery Partnership will use independent auditors to assess individual operations against the standards – helping to provide demonstrable compliance with minimum safeguarding criteria.

Incorporating cancellation policies, testing, tracing and tracking amongst employees, temperature monitoring, effective social distancing and objective cleanliness measurement (with chemical test analysis swabbing), the standards will also encompass official Government guidance.

Those businesses that sign up to the audit programme, will be able to assert participation, with access to marketable assets, such as an explainer video that conveys the key messaging and safety measures to both guests and staff, clearly and concisely. There will also be a Covid Hospitality Audit logo, which can be used to further showcase conformity.

Graham Hardiman, managing Partner of The Mystery Partnership, said: “Reassurance is the central aim of the programme. Guests will want to know that the appropriate safety measures are being taken, while staff will also welcome evidence that employers care about their wellbeing.

“The Covid Hospitality Audit provides both – something that will prove vital as we move towards the purported new normal.”
