Corus Hotels appoints two new members of senior management

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Corus Hotels has appointed two new members of staff to its senior management team with the addition of Gavin Percy and James Joshua.

Percy has been appointed as the new commercial director for Corus Hotels & Laura Ashley Hotels following his stint as acting director of sales.

Sales, marketing, and rates and distribution departments will report to Percy, who will be responsible for enhancing communication and coordination across the three departments, as well as increasing work efficiency.

Joshua joined Corus Hotels as contracts and procurement manager and is concurrently in-house counsel, a role he took up on 16 October 2017.

With an extensive legal background in the construction and energy sectors as well as experience in managing statutory and regulatory compliance in the UK and overseas, Joshua will be responsible for developing and negotiating contracts on behalf of the company, as well as managing supplier relationships and strategies.

Joshua will also be responsible for advising on data protection matters and will continue to act as in-house counsel. Joshua is a qualified barrister and has an MBA and PgCert Quantity Surveying.

Percy said: “I really look forward to working alongside senior management and the commercial team to take the company forward to the next stage in its development as a leader in the mid and upscale hotel sector.”

Joshua added: “I am excited to join Corus and Laura Ashley Hotel Group and look forward to working alongside senior management and my colleagues at our various hotels to help define the company as a niche brand leader in its mid and upscale hotel market segments.”
