An exclusive Hampshire-based hotel, Chewton Glen, has reported a 6.6% rise in annual revenue for 2017.

The hotel, which is operated by Iconic Luxury Hotels, saw total revenue rise to £16.3m, with key business segments accommodation growing 7.2%, food and beverage 4% and spa 8.7%. Hotel occupancy also rose by 1%.

In the report the company said: “Costs continued to be well controlled and the higher revenue result in EBITDA of £4.4m compared to £4.1m of the previous year.

“The company also continues to invest in the hotel property and during the year hotel refurbishment was carried out to the spa lounge and seven hotel bedrooms which contributed to the room rate improvement.”

The next 12 months are expected to bring another boost to the hotel’s financial position, with the introduction of a cookery school in April 2017 and a new casual dining experience to be added to the hotel’s facilities.
