CitizenM partners with Gymbox

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Hotel brand CitizenM has partnered with Gymbox, a boutique gym group, to offer bespoke gym classes to its guests.

The collaboration will see free access to Gymbox’s pre-recorded workout classes across CitizenM’s entire portfolio via its in-room TVs.

In a similar vein to its home workouts that can be found on the firm’s Out the Box digital platform, the sessions stretch across five categories; strength, sweat, fight, holistic, and rhythm.

Marc Diaper, CEO at Gymbox, said: “We’re really excited about collaborating with CitizenM to be able to offer their guests the Gymbox experience from their hotel rooms across the world.

“The demand for fitness on-the-go is ever increasing and it means their guests can get that workout in before going off to explore cities. They have a great forward-thinking brand, a very strong tone of voice and the service is always excellent.”

The CitizenM portfolio comprises 21 hotels in 14 cities across the world, including three London properties.

Its hotels are designed to provide travellers with “everything they need”, with the Gymbox collaboration offering its guests the opportunity to stay “active in the privacy of their room”.

Robin Chadha, CMO at citizenM, said: “Thanks to our advanced technology and owner-operator structure, we are able to implement new features in one go across the entire portfolio – bringing valuable content like Gymbox’s bespoke in-room workouts directly to our guests, no matter which of our hotels they’re staying at.”
